HISTORY OF HOLDEM

The earliest games of Holdem appeared in Robstown, Texas in the first few years of the 1900s, but by 1925, it had already taken root in Dallas, and soon attracted an enthusiastic fan base among card players of all skill levels. It was brought to Las Vegas by a group of renowned Texas gamblers including the legendary Amarillo Slim. Holdem is now played everywhere in the world, as well as at the many internet poker rooms and internet casinos that have sprung up over the last dozen or so years.

If the inability to scare opponents out of the hand has you frustrated, but you are not quite ready to have your entire bankroll on the line at any given moment, perhaps pot limit holdem is for you.
